The CDO chapter of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) was organized in 1977 by a group of brave personnel managers and officers from the different companies in Cagayan de Oro. That was twenty-one years after its mother organization, the national PMAP was established on September 29, 1956 at the Rizal Hall, University of the Philippines.
Twenty-three presidents later, this non-stock, non-profit association is solid and self-sustaining organization with nine Chapter of the Year awards and a Presidential Award tucked in its belt. It is the largest professional human resources association in Northern Mindanao.
PMAP-CDO has remained true to its mission of advancing the profession of human resource management, providing a venue for networking, and molding socially responsible people managers.

About National ( PMAP )
On 29 September 1956, thirty-seven (37) executives representing varied industrial and business establishments in Manila, held the first organization meeting of what would become known as the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines at the Rizal Hall of the University of the Philippines (UP) Institute of Public Administration. They believed then - as members still do today - that an association must be organized in a manner that directly addresses its members´ needs and responds to individual, institutional, and even to national growth. Guided by this belief, these executives set into motion the establishment of what is today´s premier organization of human resource management professionals.
